 The Photography by
Wingate studio is located 3 miles outside the eastern Athens-Clarke county line, in
Oglethorpe County. There are two distinct approaches, one from highway 78, and another
from the southern side, approaching from Barnett Shoals Road. See directions for the best route to take. Note that we are
approx. 18 minutes travel time from downtown Athens. When you arrive, you'll appreciate
our interest in a rural location! The studio is my base of operation, with several backdrops and special
lighting for everything from portraits to products. Examples of the different types of
work I do are on display, and you may enjoy the historical photographic equipment on
display as well. We keep a wonderful "Santa" Christmas tree ready for seasonal
photographs-this beautiful 12 ft. tree is decorated with Santas from around the world, an
award winner from the "Season of Lights" tree
collection in Athens. The studio houses both archival and digital darkrooms, as we do work on both formats. Most commercial work is done with digital imaging, and our portraiture also employs the advantages that digital retouching can offer.
